Digital Radiology | 04.21.2006
The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center completed installation of a new state of the art digital radiology system in January 2006.  This major investment in new technology is consistent with the leadership role our facility has in the veterinary community.  Some of the benefits to our patients and doctors are the following:

  • We are able to manipulate the image thereby “seeing” all areas of the film. This cannot be done with conventional radiographs.
  • We are able to share the image immediately with our family of referring veterinarians as well as other specialists via internet based communication. This can even be done in real time if needed.
  • Radiographic studies can almost always be done on the first try as the technique can be manipulated.  This eliminates taking multiple shots for a specific study—common in the veterinary profession as our patients vary greatly in size and density.
  • Environmentally friendly. No more toxic developer chemicals to be dumped down the drain.

AIDS Walk San Diego | 04.21.2006
The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center is proud to be an active member of our San Diego community. We are committed to helping people as well as animals. Our hospital recruited a large team of our staff and their dogs. They participated in the 5K walk in order to help raise money for this worthy cause. The PESC also sponsored a watering station along the way which kept both our two legged and four legged friends happily hydrated!

Hurricane Katrina Relief | 04.21.2006
The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center cares about pets in our country.  When there are people or pets in trouble, we want to do our part to help. Whether it is spaying and neutering stray animals in Baja, participating in the feral cat coalition or helping those victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the surrounding area, we are there to stand up and participate. The PESC raised over twelve hundred dollars for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
