Mike Serdy, BVSc, DACVS

Dr. Serdy is a native Australian and received his veterinary degree with first class honours from the University of Sydney in 1992. He worked for two years as a general practitioner in Australia before relocating to the United States where he completed a one year internship program before being selected for a surgical residency at U.C. Davis. Mike completed his three year residency program and joined the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center in 1998. His years of advanced surgical training, international education, and numerous research projects in the surgical field have prepared him to perform the most state-of-the-art surgical procedures. Mike will work with you and your veterinarian to offer the highest level of surgical care for your pet.

Heather Streppa, DVM, MS, DACVS
Board Certified Surgical Specialist

Dr. Streppa is a graduate of Texas A&M receiving her doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1999. She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University, a post-doctoral fellowship in orthopedics at the University of Georgia, and a master’s degree in biomedical science from the University of Missouri. Heather has completed a residency and a clinical instructorship in small animal surgery at the University of Missouri. Her professional interests include orthopedic, minimally invasive and oncologic surgery. Heather will work with you to provide your pet with compassionate care and the best possible surgical outcome.

David Demner, DVM
Small Animal Surgical Resident

Dr. Demner graduated from the National University of Colombia in 2003. Upon graduation he joined the soft tissue surgery department of the university for advanced training in surgery. He then made the decision to move to California. After completion of several externships at specialty hospitals he was accepted for a competitive rotating internship with the PESC. After completing the internship Dr. Demner was selected to continue his training as a surgery resident at the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center. When not in the operating room Dr. Demner enjoys traveling, tennis, soccer and taking his dog to the beach.
